Volleyball Hall of Fame Announces William G. Morgan Award
HOLYOKE, Mass. (Oct. 18, 2010) - The Volleyball Hall of Fame announced today it will present the William G. Morgan award to Mountain View Landscapes and Lawncare, Inc. for its support in promoting the sport of volleyball and the Volleyball Hall of Fame. The award shall be presented to its president, Stephen M. Corrigan at during the Hall's induction ceremony on Oct. 22 in Holyoke, Mass.
The ceremony will take place at the Log Cabin Banquet & Meeting House. The night will feature a reception at 6 p.m., with the dinner and Volleyball Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony beginning at 6:45 p.m. Six individuals will be inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame Class of 2010 including the Brazilian beach team of Shelda Bede and Adriana Behar, Hungarian coach Gabriella Kotsis, Peruvian player Gabriela Perez del Solar, former USSR player Alexandr Savin and the late Polish coach Hubert Wagner.
Corrigan, the current chairman of the board for the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce and vice president of the Holyoke YMCA, has a long history with the Volleyball Hall of Fame. He is a past president of the Volleyball Hall of Fame, the Holyoke Rotary Club and the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association. He was presented the Holyoke Chamber business person of the year award in 2004.
Corrigan is the founder and president of Mountain View Landscapes and Lawncare of Chicopee, Mass. Mountain View, established in 1976, specializes in commercial landscape construction and commercial grounds maintenance throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. Mountain View employees over 65 highly talented landscape professionals. He is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist and a Certified Landscape professional.
Corrigan has been an active civic leader in his local area. Among his more notable completed projects are the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. (original hall and current hall), Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Conn., Dr Seuss Memorial in Springfield, Mass., the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Worcester, Mass., the Holyoke Soldiers Home Living Sign, Simsbury (Conn.) track and artificial field project, Connecticut Science Center Science Building, West Hartford Veterans Memorial, Chicopee Comp High School and Worcester Vocational High School, UMass Integrated Science building and the AIC Athletic Fields and Running Track.
Corrigan resides in Holyoke with his wife Maureen and their three children - Sean (25), Andrew (21) and Erin (17).
