BIOGRAPHY
One of the most feared attackers in volleyball history, Ivan Miljković’s powerful presence and consistent dominance made him a cornerstone of Serbia’s golden generation. A three-time Olympian, Miljković burst onto the world stage at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, where his explosive attacks and blocks from the right-side helped lead Yugoslavia to a historic Olympic gold medal.
Over the next decade and beyond, Miljković collected an impressive array of medals from the sport’s most prestigious events, including podium finishes at the FIVB World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Champions Cup, and multiple World League campaigns. His individual accolades are equally staggering—earning MVP, Best Scorer, and Best Spiker honors in elite competitions such as the World League, European Championship, and CEV Champions League.
Miljković’s club career was equally prolific. He twice lifted the CEV Champions League trophy—first in 2001 and again in 2011—and won national championships in three different countries: Greece, Turkey, and Italy’s prestigious Serie A1. His offensive efficiency, tactical intelligence, and clutch scoring performances earned him a reputation as one of the most complete and decisive players of his era.
Beyond the statistics, Miljković’s leadership and professionalism set a standard for future generations. As captain of the Serbian National Team and later as president of the FIVB Athletes’ Commission, he gave back to the sport by shaping its growth and supporting players' voices worldwide. His ability to deliver in high-pressure moments, coupled with his passion for the game, inspired teammates and fans alike.
For his extraordinary career, competitive spirit, and global impact on the sport, the International Volleyball Hall of Fame is proud to induct Ivan Miljković as a Male Indoor Player.
