BIOGRAPHY
Jürgen Wagner is one of the most successful and innovative coaches in the history of beach volleyball. He led two different teams to Olympic gold: Brink/Reckermann in 2012 and Ludwig/Walkenhorst in 2016—marking the first Olympic victories for both European men’s and women’s beach volleyball. He also coached both pairs to FIVB World Championships (2009 and 2017) and six European titles. Wagner’s strategic brilliance and athlete-first approach helped transform Germany into a beach volleyball powerhouse. He also coached indoor volleyball to national titles in the 1990s and served as Germany’s National Beach Coach (2020–2022). Named Germany’s Coach of the Year in 2017, his legacy is etched in gold.
