BIOGRAPHY
Laura Ludwig is one of the most decorated beach volleyball players in history and a pioneer for European women in the sport. A five-time Olympian, she captured gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics with Kira Walkenhorst—the first European women's duo to do so. Together, they also won the 2017 FIVB World Championship and multiple European titles (2008, 2010, 2015, 2016). Ludwig was honored as FIVB Best Defensive Player in 2016 and 2017 and amassed 35 World Tour medals. Her elite anticipation, relentless hustle, and cool-under-pressure play made her a fan favorite and an enduring icon of beach volleyball worldwide.
