Holyoke, Mass., – The International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) is proud to announce that Executive Director George Mulry has been appointed as a member of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Heritage and Legacy Commission. The appointment was approved by the FIVB Board of Administration on December 5, 2025. Mulry, who has served as the Executive Director of the IVHF since 2011, brings a wealth of experience in preserving and celebrating the history of volleyball. His appointment will reserve a spot to contribute his expertise to the FIVB's new commission, which aims to honor the sport's past while building its future.
“George’s appointment is a tremendous recognition of his leadership and the important role the International Volleyball Hall of Fame plays within the global volleyball community,” said Steve Bishop, President of the IVHF. “His commitment to honoring the game’s history and building meaningful international partnerships has strengthened the Hall’s standing worldwide, and this role with the FIVB is a natural extension of that work.”
The Heritage and Legacy Commission is one of the FIVB’s strategic initiatives to connect the global volleyball community with the sport's rich history. Mulry's role will be to ensure that the heritage of volleyball is documented, celebrated, and leveraged to inspire the next generation of players and fans.
