INDUCTEE NOMINATION FORM
The IVHF Nomination Form must be completed in full for the candidate to be considered eligible as a nominee. Please include any supporting documentation including photographs, articles or other available information up to a maximum of three (3) original pages by uploading them at the end of the form. A separate nomination form must be completed for each candidate.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for Induction into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame:
Player: A player should be fully retired from their highest level of play for five years before being eligible for Induction. Should a player come out of retirement for a short period of time, as determined by the IVHF, their case and eligibility for Induction shall be reviewed on an individual basis.
Coach: A coach should be either fully retired from their highest level of coaching for three years or, if still an active coach at their highest level, have coached as either a full-time assistant or head coach for a minimum of 20 years. Candidates who are 65 or older are eligible six months following retirement from their highest level of coaching. Should a coach come out of retirement for a short period of time, as determined by the IVHF, their case and eligibility for Induction shall be reviewed on an individual basis.
Referee: A referee should be fully retired from their highest level of officiating for three years. Candidates who are 65 or older are eligible six months following retirement from their highest level of officiating.
Leader/Contributor: A person is eligible for Induction as a contributor at any time for significant contributions to the sport of volleyball. What constitutes a “significant contribution” shall be determined by the IVHF Board of Directors and the International Selection Committee.
ParaVolley: A person is eligible for Induction in the ParaVolley category if a significant portion of their career was affiliated with World ParaVolley and its competitions/programming/administration.
Those whose careers entailed involvement in multiple categories will be considered for their overall contribution to the sport of volleyball; however, the specific category in which these individuals shall be considered will be determined by the role in which they were most prominent as determined by the Screening Committee.

The IVHF does not consider political affiliation, national political dynamics, or geopolitical alignment as part of its evaluation criteria. Volleyball is a global sport that has historically brought together athletes, coaches, and leaders from across cultures and nations. The Hall of Fame remains committed to preserving that spirit through an objective and inclusive selection process.
Global Representation and Integrity of the Process
The IVHF’s induction process is designed to reflect the international nature of volleyball. Finalists are identified through a rigorous screening process conducted by an international committee, and final selections are made collectively by Hall of Famers representing diverse backgrounds and perspectives from around the world along with a global fan vote.
Respect for the Global Volleyball Community
We recognize that volleyball is deeply meaningful to communities worldwide, particularly during times of global conflict. The IVHF respects the perspectives of all members of the international volleyball family and remains focused on its mission to honor the sport’s history and those who have shaped it. The IVHF strives to uphold a transparent, fair, and merit-based induction process.

- Selection requires a 75% majority from the total votes received.
- Every living inductee is an official voting member of the International Selection Committee.
- The top vote-getter in each category of the Fan Vote earns one vote on the official selection ballot
- The overall leading vote-getter of the Fan Vote receives an additional bonus vote
