BIOGRAPHY

Debbie Green is one of the finest setters the game has ever seen.  Green has a lengthy list of volleyball accomplishments to her credit. Her Chuck Erbe coached Adidas Team of high school players swept the United States Volleyball Association (USVBA) Nationals in 1975. She was selected four times as a USVBA 1st Team All-American.

Green was the starting setter and two-time Collegiate 1st Team All-American for the University of Southern California's championship years (1976 & 1977). In 1977, she was named the Collegiate Player of the Year. She was a two-time Pan American Team member (1979 & 1983, silver medal) and a USA team member in three world championships.

It was the Olympic team coached by Arie Selinger, quarterbacked by Green and powered by Flo Hyman that brought American women's volleyball to prominence on the world stage, winning the Silver Medal in 1984. Coach Selinger would later say that Green established new standards for setters among the world's volleyball players. Debbie Green received the USVBA "All-Time Great Player Award in 1986.
